Womb baby trauma & energetic imprinting
Everything is energy, and even while in utero, we have been imprinted deeply with all the good and bad information that has been shared in the womb from our mother. There is even evidence that has been building up over the past several years, that show that genes encoded in sperm can be modified by the environment in which they were developing, meaning, in the guy, and those modifications may affect the developing child.
Pregnancy is a great source of enjoyment, hope, and anticipation for most women; it may also bring on anxiety, distress, depression, trauma, and feelings of ambiguity (Talley, L 2013). Parenting, maternal bonding, and biological effects on fetal development begin before birthing (Daglar & Nur, 2018; Glover & Capron, 2017).
It can be very difficult to know what obstacles our mother had while carrying us, but here are just a few major bonding obstacles that could have happened:
Recurrent post-traumatic stress disorder
PTSD associated to prenatal substance abuse (Delker et al., 2020; Sanjuan et al., 2019)
anticipatory anxiety
unplanned or unwanted pregnancy
maternal separations from loved ones
abandonment by partner
family illness
financial deficits or poverty
family deaths
hormonal and acute physiological changes
baby’s gender
domestic violence history and recent occurrences
unresolved spontaneous abortion (SAB) or planned abortion
(TAB) trauma or fetal demise
medical trauma
genetic fetal disorder/complications
preexisting mental disorder or concurrent multiple diagnosis
pregnancy rejection
pregnancy denial
fetal idealization
recent immigration
language barrier, cultural (Kruger, 2020)
gender and racial oppression
religious restrictions
affect phobia
unresolved grief
recent flashbacks
nightmares
memories of previously dissociated trauma.
Swales et al. (2018) findings suggest that the effects of childhood exposure to traumatic events remained after accounting for more proximal traumatic events in adulthood.
So, what do we do from here?
If you are one of those people, who think about who they are, and where their life is going, and why things may be more difficult than expected, there is one BIG thing not to forget.. The person who you are, was imprinted during prenatal, and has continued to be imprinted from that day forward. Imprinted with so many positive and negative energies, that we don’t even know how to grasp what that means, and how to have these energies move through us, so we can no longer carry the stress, anxiety, depression, and uncertainty that could have be caused by this very imprinting.
This is where energy work comes in, and is rooted in science in so many ways, and also has many unknowns on how it can heal the body and mind in such a way that we literally have a shift in consciousness.
We know how yoga can release stress, increase serotonin levels, work with the parasympathetic & sympathetic nervous system, supports digestive health, restores our fascial fluidity, balances our vital force (prana vayu), and so much more, but what many of us struggle to understand is that there is a deep shift in consciousness that can also occur, that begins to shift the way we see and feel ourselves, and the world around us.
No matter if you can relate to the above list of prenatal traumas, or not, we are all carrying some type of trauma, big or small, that effects us in being able to live in the present moment, with ease and grace. Trauma triggers rise and fall, making it difficult to maintain healthy and happy relationships.
So the question is, how do we master the ability to heal our own trauma that could be continuously occurring in small or big ways throughout our lifetime?
There are three main types of trauma: Acute, Chronic, or Complex
Acute trauma results from a single incident.
Chronic trauma is repeated and prolonged such as domestic violence or abuse.
Complex trauma is exposure to varied and multiple traumatic events, often of an invasive, interpersonal nature.
The charity Mind in the United Kingdom lists the following as potential causes of trauma:
bullying
harassment
physical, psychological, or sexual abuse
sexual assault
traffic collisions
childbirth
life threatening illnesses
sudden loss of a loved one
being attacked
being kidnapped
acts of terrorism
natural disasters
war
Traumatic events can be isolated or repeated, ongoing events. A person can also experience trauma after witnessing something traumatic happening to someone else.

How Holistic wellness can help
This is were holistic wellness comes in, it is a huge piece of the puzzle in being able to break through the trauma that loves to hold you down, and that can even be buried deep into the subconscious.
Yes, of course, you have the medical system as an option to have your weekly therapy sessions, so you can talk through all the things that have happened, and that is helpful, don’t get me wrong, but along with that, there are so many other modalities out there, that can actually help you move trauma through FEELING an experience, instead of INTELLECTUALLY THINKING through the experience.
Some of these modality’s entail:
Yoga
Meditation
Pranayama
Mantras (chanting)
Mudras (hand positions)
Nutritional counseling
Nature therapy
Art & music therapy
Writing therapy, journaling
Ceremony & rituals, setting intentions
Sound healing
KAP (kundalini activation process)
Massage
Temazcal
Expressive dance
and there are so much more…
We will continuously be imprinted throughout our lifetime, and this is why it's so important to understand that you have many holistic wellness choices on how to move the stuck energy that is not serving you in a positive way.
You have the control to heal yourself with the proper guide(s) who hold space, who let you organically connect to your body, mind, and emotions in a way that is authentic and organic.
There are holistic modalities that will guide you deeper into understanding the types of energies, information, people, and vibrations that are around and in your life in an effortless way.
These modalities will guide you to take a careful eye, and diligent understanding on how important it is to manage this energetic frequency of information, and how it will support you in healing past trauma, and have you living a life towards peace, so in this lifetime you are able to be grounded, have better direction, feel secure, with deep wisdom and clarity that will inspire you to live the life that you truly want, and be a part of social circles that lift you up, overcoming the effects of the world around you.
